The Kavanagh Family
The Cats

We have had 4 cats in the family since 1990. Smoky was the first. Ashes lived the longest at about 20 years, and Crystal lived about 16 or so. The newest cat in the family is Freddie. We got him in 2012 from the humane society

Freddie

Freddie is the first real snuggly cat we have adopted. He is very sweet. But apparently he was shot at as a kitten with shot in is back leg. Thus he is not much of a jumper, but he does climb. He plays rough with the dogs and is not afraid of anything.

SMOKY (1990-2006)

Smoky was the black cat. You did not seem him around much, he was afraid of people. The only one he responded to was Emily. When Emily her own place, she took Smoky with them. Old age finally caught up with Smoky which was hard for Emily.

ASHES (1992-2012)

Ashes was the gray fuzz ball. She acted like a princess. My brother was her first attachment. Since he moved out, she didn't really attach to anyone until she turned 18. Then she started acting like a cat with Cyn. She lived to a ripe old age of 20.

CRYSTAL (1996-2012)

Finally there is Crystal. She seems to act more like a dog than a cat at times. Richard and Cyndy are her favorites. When Richard moved out in 2006, Crystal moved out with him. She passed away in 2012.
