This is one of the newest light rail system in Japan. The line was a JR single-track freight/passenger line running tom Toyama-eki to the port. Toyama converted the line from mainline to light rail and added a bit a street trackage to bring the line to the the plaza in front of the station. The equipment used are low-floor cars, double-ended. The line has a frequency of about every 15 minutes, much higher then the former JR line. There are plans to extend the line to the other side of the JR station to contact with the current tram system Click on any photo to enlarge
