Phoenix

Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ is one of the nation's fastest growing cities. It also is fast becoming a very traffic soaked city. The Valley of the Sun is one big suburban sprawl. Phoenix and the neighboring East Valley cities of Tempe and Mesa are looking to Light Rail to help ease traffic problems. The system starts north of downtown PHX, then runs down Central Ave to downtown. From there it heads east skirt the edge of the airport before landing in Tempe by ASU. The line then continues down Apache Blvd ending on the western edge of Mesa. Further extensions east to downtown Mesa and north to possibly Glendale are planned.
