State St. Subway

Original Chicago Subway

The State St. Subway is the first subway that opened in Chicago in 1943. The section between Lake St on the north and Jackson on the south forms one continuous platform. This is longest such platform in the World according to the Guinness book. Trains stop at different locations along this platform. The stops have changed over the years. The current stops are Lake, Washington, Monroe & Jackson. Transfer pedestrian tunnels to the Dearborn Subway are located at Washington & Jackson. Stops.

There are 5 other stations in the subway. North/Cylbourn, Chicago & Grand are North of the loop, Harrison and Roosevelt on the south.
