South Shore

Once the South Shore crosses into Illinois from Indiana, the line is subsidized by METRA. All but one station (Hegewich) is actually on the METRA Electric line to Randolph station. The South Shore does make a few stops along the way, but no local passengers are allowed along the METRA Electric stretch.
