This is a very busy station. Originally this station was one long, narrow island platform with westbound trains stopping on one end, eastbound the other end so they didn't stop across from each other. As part of the Westside project, an additional westbound side platform was opened, closing the westbound side of the island, allowing for much better pedestrian flow.
