Tacoma Link

Tacoma, Washington opened the first Light Rail system in the Puget Sound Region. This very short circulator line opened in August 2003. It uses the same light rail cars as the Portland Streetcar in Portland Oregon.  The line starts as a single track line at the Tacoma Dome Station. There is a large Park-n-Ride structure here along with connections to regional buses as well as Sounder, the commuter rail line to Seattle. The line then opens up to double-track by the former Union Station which is now a courthouse. The line then continues into downtown Tacoma ending at the Theatre district.
