Asian transit is dominated by Japan. Japan is a traction and transit enthusiasts dream come true. Nearly every major city has some sort of rail transit, from a small tram line to a huge, big city, metro system.

South Korea is currently expanding and building subway systems in many of its cities, only Seoul is featured on this site.

Many forget that Israel is part of the Asian continent, and many don't realize that Israel has rail transit. Haifa has the world's short subway system and Jerusalem and Tel Aviv are building light rail networks

Singapore is an island nation with a rapidly growing metro system. In China nearly every large city operates, or is building a metro system
