Tokaido Line

This is the original Shinkansen rail line running from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka. It was built in the 1960's. Now it is one of the slowest lines due to its age. But it is also the busiest section of Shinkansen with trains running only minutes apart with locals and expresses. The views of Mt Fuji are fantastic.

If you like Japanese railroading consider joining the Japanese Railway Society.
