Nanjing Metro
Nanjing is an ancient city in China. At one time was a capital city for China. Nanjing is about 1.5-2 hrs from Shanghai via high speed train. There are two main train stations in the north and south of the city, both served by the high speed network.

Nanjing, like all chinese cities, is growing rapidly. As such it is agressively building subway lines and soon tram lines. The webmaster visited the city in April on 2014 when only 2 metro lines were running. Many more lines are opening in short order. A unique fare collection feature is you either had to have a stored valued RFID card, or you purchase RFID "tokens" for the faregates.
