TRAX Light Rail

TRAX

The naysayers said it would never be popular, but TRAX has been proven that you build it and they will want more.

After building the line to Sandy in 1999, everyone in the Salt Lake basin wants Light rail. The University line soon followed. An extension to the new FrontRunner station was next. Soon to follow are lines to the Airport, Draper, Mid-Jordon and West Valley.

TRAX even runs on Sundays which has opened up downtown on weekends.

TRAX obtained used Light Rail Cars from San Jose, CA (built by UTDC) to supplement their fleet of Siemens cars. There are no plans to switch to low-floors cars at this time.
