Long Island Railroad

LIRR

Probably the oldest and definitely the biggest commuter railroad in the US. Home of the "Dashing Dan" commuter. LIRR is an important link to the NYC bedroom communities on Long Island. Its biggest terminal is Penn Station. Other NY terminals are Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, Hunterspoint and Long Island City, Queens. Then there is the famous "Change at Jamaica" where all the main branches, except Port Washington converge in eastern Queens.

It is a very busy railroad!
