Vancouver Transit > Skytrain
Millennium Line

van-alr-commercial-042203-02.jpg (554979 bytes)

Millennium Line

This line opened in December 2002. The line starts at VCC/Clark, crossing under the Expo Broadway station at Commercial Drive, with a sky bridge transfer. The line heads east to Burnaby. At Lougheed Town Center the line turns south. A future connection to a line to Port Moody is here as well. The line then starts curving west to join the original Expo Line at Columbia in New Westminster. Millennium Line trains then continue their journey to downtown Vancouver along the Expo Line to Waterfront station.

There are plans to extend the Millennium Line west from VCC to at least Main St, then onto UBC along the Broadway corridor.

New cars were acquired for this line that are very different then the original cars on the Expo Line and are dubbed Millennium cars. However trains of both types are seen on both routes.
