  CT New Haven Shore Line East   This commuter operation is still hanging on.
  FL Jacksonville Jacksonville Transportation Authority This is a downtown circulator automated monorail
  FL Miami Tri-Rail   What was a temporary commuter line for freeway construction, is now permanent.
  FL Miami Miami-Dade County   Yes, Florida does have a "subway", it just runs below the sun.
  FL Orlando LYNX   There is a big push for light rail along International drive, but they keep hitting road blocks.
  FL Tampa Teco Streetcar   This is a new line using newly built streetcars resembling double-truck Birneys.
  GA Atlanta Atlanta MARTA They did rather well in the 1996 Olympics
  MD Baltimore Maryland

  NY Buffalo NFTA There is a small light rail/metro here.
  NY NY/NJ/CT NY MTA The behemoth of transit agencies. It controls the NY Subway, Long Island RR, Metro North RR, NY Buses and all the intra-city toll bridges.

It may be part of the MTA, but it is actually in a class by itself.
  NY NY AirTrain   This is the new train that links JFK airport terminals & Howard beach & Jamaica, Queens 
  NY NY/NJ The Port Authority of
NY & NJ
The main theme is the Airports, Bridges, Tunnels and ports, but they do operate a subway line from Newark NJ into NYC, the PATH Tubes.
  NJ New Jersey New Jersey Transit They operate The US's little known Light Rail line dubbed the Newark City Subway. They also have a top notch Commuter Rail system
  NC Charlotte CATS   North Carolina's largest city and the 2nd largest financial center of the United States -- is planning an 11-mile-long, 16-station light rail system, expected to begin operation in 2004
  PA Philadelphia SEPTA
This system is starting to show signs of revitalization. The new cars are in operation on the El, and there is talk of new cars for the sub-surface lines.
  PA Philadelphia PATCO A successful regional line connecting downtown Philly to Camden NJ, and outlying towns.
  PA Pittsburgh Port Authority   Light rail with a downtown subway.
  DC Washington Washington
