69th Street Terminal

Philadelphia

The Norristown Line ends at the apex of traction terminals, 69th St. The old P&W maintains 3 tracks here into the new SEPTA era. There is evidence of the old Lehigh Valley Transit and freight track here as well. Trains during evening rush have 3~4 levels of local and express that leave at 15 minute intervals with departures about 1~2 minutes apart. This exemplifies the high standard and speed of service of the old P&W that still exists.

One of the famous Bullets awaiting departure at 69th St. These are the cars that made this line famous! (1989)	Are we in Chicago? When the Stafford and Bullet cars started failing, SEPTA needed cars badly. They bought ex-CTA cars. They also used a few ex-Market St. cars. (1989)
