At Grade Brown Line |
The Brown Line starts at Kimball Terminal in north Chicago. it joins the Red & Purple Lines at Belmont for the 4 track right-of-way to Armitage, where the Red Line disappears into the subway. The Brown Line continues on the 'L' and enters the loop at Tower 28. It runs counter-clockwise around the loop then head back north to Kimball.
The Brown Line is undergoing renovation to allow 8-car trains, as ridership on the line has been steadily increasing.
