Japanese Transit -> Toyama
Toyama Chicho Railway(Interurban)

Interurban

This railway has 3 lines with most trains orginating at the main Toyama station, next to the JR Toyama station. It has all the characteristics of an old fashion US style interurban. Mostly single track with scheduled meets. The railway has locals and express, and a variety of equipment. It also serves tourists as part of an "Alpine" tour involved several modes of transport over the Japan Alps between Toyama and Nagano. Another branch allows connection to another railway visiting the Kurobe Dam and gorge. Do not expect much english however, as most tourist are Japanese.
